About this trip
Many yacht trips sold for Playa del Carmen board at Marina Puerto Aventuras, 20 to 30 minutes south of Playa by road. This day runs the coast between the two: a reef stop on the way up, then the afternoon at anchor off Playa del Carmen.
The first stop is In'ah Bay, in front of Punta Venado, about an hour north of the marina. The boat anchors by the reef and you snorkel from it among reef fish; stingrays and sea turtles are sometimes seen. From there it is about another hour to Playa del Carmen, where the boat anchors off Mamitas Beach Club.
Lunch is cooked on board here, and the paddle boards and floating mat go over the side. The return is about 12 nautical miles, a little under two hours on a catamaran.
The sea off this coast is part of the Caribe Mexicano Biosphere Reserve. CONANP sets its fee at 125 Mexican pesos per person per day; older adults, pensioners and retirees, people with disabilities and children under 12 are exempt. We'll confirm whether it is charged on this trip before you pay the deposit.

Questions
Why does a Playa del Carmen charter leave from Puerto Aventuras?
Because that is where these yachts are berthed. Marina Puerto Aventuras is 20 to 30 minutes south of Playa del Carmen by road, and other operators who sell yacht trips for Playa del Carmen board their guests there too.
Do we go ashore at Mamitas Beach Club?
The day is planned at anchor off the beach, with lunch and the bar on board and swimming from the boat. Time ashore is not part of the plan.
Will we see sea turtles?
Sometimes. Turtles and stingrays are seen at In'ah Bay on some days and not on others, so the snorkel is planned for the reef and its fish.
What is included in the price?
The crew (captain, deck crew, chef and host), an open bar with beer, wine, spirits, cocktails and mocktails, towels, snorkeling gear, paddle boards and a floating mat. On a six-hour charter the chef serves a seasonal fruit plate, pico de gallo, guacamole, quesadillas, fish and shrimp ceviche, grilled beef and chicken fajitas, and a dessert.
What costs extra?
The dock fee is $15 USD per person, paid in cash at check-in. On Bang Bang Lulu and Chapter Two each guest beyond the 15 included costs $110 USD plus tax on a six-hour charter. Tipping the crew is at your discretion; we suggest 10% to 15% of the charter fee.
How many people can come?
Bang Bang Lulu (42 ft) includes 15 guests and takes up to 25. Chapter Two (45 ft) includes 15 and takes up to 30. Triton (38 ft) takes up to 10.
Will there be sargassum?
Sargassum reaches this coast mostly in spring and summer, heaviest from May to August, and it varies by week and by beach. November to February usually brings the least.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If we cannot complete your cruise because of weather, you receive a 100% refund or the option to reschedule.
How do we book and pay?
A 50% deposit confirms the reservation and secures your date. The balance is due 7 days before the cruise. We accept all major credit cards and ACH transfers, and we confirm the cancellation terms for your yacht in writing before you book.
