Sophia: Lagoon Yacht

Sophia is a Lagoon 39 sailing catamaran for groups of up to 20 who want a day of sailing, snorkeling and swimming off Cozumel. At 39 feet she is one of the builder's compact cruising catamarans, drawn by Van Peteghem and Lauriot-Prevost, and she leaves from Marina Cozumel ASIPONA on charters of three to eight hours. The day price covers 15 guests, and up to five more can join at a set rate each. A crew of four sails her and looks after the group.

Aft, the cockpit has a dining table and bench seats beside the raised helm; inside are the saloon and galley, three cabins and two bathrooms. Forward, the trampoline nets between the bows are the place to lie in the sun. For the water there is snorkel gear, a paddleboard, a floating mat and floats, and a 15 hp dinghy comes along as tender. Lunch, snacks, beer, spirits and soft drinks are included, with towels and wifi aboard. She suits birthdays, family reunions, proposals and bachelor parties. What sets her apart is how much room a 39-foot catamaran gives 20 guests, from the cockpit table aft to the nets forward.
