About this trip
This is our design for a whole day on and around Isla Mujeres, with nobody looking at a watch. You leave Marina Puerto Cancún on TRCII, an 80-foot Azimut, snorkel on the way across, spend the middle of the day at Playa Norte and in town, and finish with a run down the island to Punta Sur before the crossing home.
The first stop is off Cancún's north shore, near the Maya site of El Meco: a shallow reef there, or a sunken boat close by, whichever the conditions favour.
Playa Norte, at the island's north end, faces north and west onto sheltered, shallow water. The yacht anchors off it for a long swim, and then you go ashore for lunch at a beach restaurant or a walk through town. If you would rather stay aboard, add a chef and eat on deck.
In the afternoon the yacht follows the island's west coast, part of the Costa Occidental de Isla Mujeres, Punta Cancún y Punta Nizuc National Park, to Punta Sur, the southern tip, where the land ends in cliffs over the Caribbean. From there the captain turns for Cancún.
Tell us what the day is for. A birthday, a proposal or a company outing each changes the food, the timing and how long you want at each stop.

Questions
Which marina do we leave from?
Marina Puerto Cancún, at the north end of Cancún's hotel zone, where TRCII is based. Two other Isla Mujeres trips leave from marinas closer to the island: one from Marina Hacienda del Mar in Puerto Juárez, and one from Marina V&V in Playa Mujeres. Each has its own trip page.
Can we go ashore on Isla Mujeres?
Yes, the middle of the day is for that. The yacht anchors off Playa Norte and the captain arranges on the day how you get to the beach. Meals and anything you buy ashore are paid for directly.
Is the route fixed?
No. This is the day we suggest, and the captain can lengthen or drop a stop. The limits are the eight hours and the sea: the snorkel stop and the run to Punta Sur both depend on conditions.
Where do we snorkel, and is gear included?
At El Meco reef, off Cancún's north shore by the Maya site of the same name, or at a sunken boat nearby. Snorkel gear is not on TRCII's list of what is included, so bring a mask if you have one.
What is included in the price?
TRCII's price covers the yacht with its captain and crew. A chef can be added for $300 USD plus the cost of the groceries.
What costs extra?
The dock tax is $15 USD per person, paid on the day. The inflatable water slide ($750 USD), jet skis ($450 USD) and Seabobs ($400 USD) are extras. If the day runs long, overtime is $375 USD an hour. Tipping the crew is at your discretion; we suggest 10% to 15% of the charter fee.
How many people can come?
TRCII includes 18 guests and takes up to 25. Each guest above 18 costs $150 USD.
Is there a national park fee?
The island's west coast, which the run to Punta Sur follows, is part of the Costa Occidental de Isla Mujeres, Punta Cancún y Punta Nizuc National Park. CONANP's fee is $125 MXN per person per day. Children under 12, older adults, pensioners and people with disabilities are exempt, and Mexican nationals and foreign residents pay half. We'll confirm whether it is collected on your day and how.
Is sargassum a problem?
Sargassum reaches the Mexican Caribbean mostly between April and October and is least likely from November to February. Playa Norte faces north and west onto sheltered water, so it usually gets far less than the beaches that face east, though not never.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If we cannot complete your cruise because of weather, you receive a 100% refund or the option to reschedule.
How do we book and pay?
A 50% deposit confirms the reservation and secures your date. The balance is due 7 days before the cruise. We accept all major credit cards and ACH transfers, and we confirm the cancellation terms for your yacht in writing before you book.
